Yojimbo Disaster

Yojimbo is a boss in Survive The Disasters 2. He is also one of the three superbosses in Hardcore Mode, being known as Masamune.

Description[]

Yojimbo is a boss that spawns at the middle of the map, and will usually dash around the map to attack players. Yojimbo mostly uses his sword as a weapon for his attacks. The round lasts for 60 seconds, attacking players throughout until killed, time runs out, or all players are killed, in which case he'll start attacking at random spots. Yojimbo has four abilities.

  • Kunai Throw: Yojimbo throws multiple kunai knives towards players, each dealing Heart -45 damage.
  • Sword Wave: Yojimbo slams his sword on the ground, summoning a fast purple shockwave in front of him that travels a far distance and deals Heart -80 damage to players upon contact.
  • Dash Teleport: Yojimbo teleports from 1 to 3 times towards a random enemy spawn point, leaving a purple trail behind. Players who come in contact with Yojimbo while he is dashing will be dealt Heart -80 damage.
  • Melee Swing: Within enough range, Yojimbo will melee swing his sword and instantly kill the player.

Hyper Yojimbo[]

Hyper Yojimbo, known alternatively as Masamune, is a super boss in Hardcore Mode, along with Reaper and Black Mage. Overall, he doesn't have any different attacks compared to his standard variant; instead, he uses them in a much quicker and deadlier speed. His appearance changes to a devilish character. He receives a significant buff to his health and damage, alongside a new red fashion for his attacks. The round lasts for 150 seconds in Hardcore Mode. Masamune has four abilities.

Abilities[]

  • Kunai Throw: Masamune throws multiple kunai knives towards players, each dealing Heart -45 damage. They now explode after 1 ~ 1.5 seconds. The explosion is an instant-kill attack.
  • Sword Wave: Masamune slams his sword on the ground at a quicker pace, summoning a fast red shockwave in front of him that travels an even further distance and deals Heart -80 damage to players upon contact.
  • Dash Teleport: Masamune teleports from 3 to 5 times towards a random enemy spawn point, without breaks between each dash, leaving a red trail behind. Players who come in contact with Masamune while he is dashing will be dealt Heart -80 damage.
  • Melee Swing: Within enough range, Masamune will melee swing his sword and instantly kill the player, at an extremely fast speed.

Disaster Memo Information[]

"Yojimbo the mighty-nimble samurai slashes in! He has an attack allowing him to quickly dash to a random Enemy Spawn point that deals 80 damage when you're in the way. He also has a ranged shockwave attack that does 80 damage to the closest target. Sometimes he will throw kunai knives at random targets, That deal 45 damage. If you're standing too close to him, he will do a melee slash that will instantly kill you. Take cover and be weary where the Enemy Spawn points are."

"Masamune, the hyper version of Yojimbo slashes in! All attacks do the same damage but are deadlier in a way. His sword wave attack travels faster and farther, his kunais explode after 1 ~ 1.5 seconds after hitting surfaces. Instead of dash teleporting 1 ~ 3 times, he does it 3 ~ 5 times and quicker! When the music reaches the climax, he'll then use his dash teleport move. Overall, all of his moves are sped up, be very cautious!"

Trivia[]

  • Yojimbo is likely based off the summon of the same name in Final Fantasy X, due to his attacks and the soundtrack.
    • Hyper Yojimbo, also known as Masamune, on the other hand, is likely based on the legendary japanese swordsmith of the same name. If this is true, the fact that Masamune is tougher than Yojimbo may be a reference to the fact that in the legend, Masamune's swords are of a greater quality.
  • Yojimbo was scheduled to be released in Version 1.37, but he made his first appearance in Version 1.365.
  • When Yojimbo was added, his disaster memo information wasn't fully written.
  • In Version 1.37, Yojimbo's Kunai Throw ability was nerfed from Heart -60 to Heart -45 damage.
  • Hyper Yojimbo was added in Version 41.5.
  • If players defeat Hyper Yojimbo, they will receive a badge called Dishonored.
  • Masamune the only super boss in Hardcore Mode that does not have fog during the round. It is also the only super boss that moves around the map instead of standing in one place.
  • In Version 41, Yojimbo's health has been buffed from Heart 5600 to Heart 6800.
  • In Version 41.82, Hyper Yojimbo's bloxxer award was nerfed from Coin 20000 to Coin 15000.
