Bonus Rounds are a mechanic in Survive The Disasters 2, that were added in Version 1.21. They serve as a replacement to the minigame round from the Beta version.

Bonus Rounds are a special type of disasters, similarly to Bosses, and are the rarest of them all, occuring on every 28th round (before Map changes). They are harmless unlike all other Disasters, and will always give players a chance to get extra rewards, such as Coins and experience, generally requiring some teamwork. There are currently 5 Bonus Rounds, described below. For more in-depth information on any bonus, please click on their splashes to check their pages.

Current Bonus Rounds

Coin Balloon Disaster

A balloon will appear at the end of the map. When players use weapons to damage the balloon, coins will constantly fall from it, giving a chance for players to receive extra rewards. There are three types of coins: bronze, silver and gold. All of them get shared between attackers, so no need to compete to get more coins As the balloon gets more damage, its speed will also significantly increase throughout the round, making it harder to hit with certain ranged weapons.

Tix Defense Disaster

A large Ticket bag will appear at the center of the map, and Noobs will spawn around the map and try to steal Tickets from the bag. The main task is to stop the Noobs from stealing all of the Tickets, as when the bag is emptied, players will not receive a bonus.

Token Hunt A Disaster

Players are teleported to a small 2D platform map, built of blue parts. The main task is to collect tokens scattered around this map. There are three types of tokens: the blue token (gives 8 coins), the yellow token (gives 16 coins) and the red token (gives 32 coins). Tokens are shared, which means if a player collected a token, it will still be there to be collected by another player.

Token Hunt B Disaster

Players were teleported to a small 2D platform map, built of red parts. The main task was to collect tokens scattered around this map. This version of Token Hunt changed the layout of the 2D area, which was even more filled with the tokens. There were more obstacles and, overall, more diversity comparing to Token Hunt A.

Falling Hoops Disaster

Players had to go through hoops that slowly descended towards the ground to win rewards. Hoops that weee worth more coins are smaller in size and dropped down faster. There weee three types of hoops: the blue hoop (gave 16 coins), the yellow hoop (gave 32 coins) and the red hoop (gave 64 coins). Gears like the Speed Coil, Fusion Coil and Epic Katana were recommended to reach the faster hoops in time.

Trivia

  • Tix Defense is based on the now-deprecated Ticket currency on ROBLOX. It may reference Tickets being the only viable currency for players who did not wish to spend money on ROBLOX.
  • Tix Defense is the only bonus round that you can double your coins if you have Double Coins. The other bonus rounds use separate Achievement bonuses and thus are not doubled.
  • Coin Balloon does not give you any experience from its coin rewards.
  • Streaks will not be affected in any way, neither losing or increasing, when playing Bonus Rounds. They also don't count as Survivals.
  • Bonus Rounds were updated in Version 1.37 as they would appear only after 28 rounds have passed nor could they be found in Mystery Disaster rounds.
  • Coin Balloon was previously known as Ring Balloon, as it dropped rings. It was based off of Sonic the Hedgehog.
    • It was renamed in Version 39, and now drops coins, due to the Sonic The Hedgehog content removal.
  • In Version 41.71, majority of the Bonus Round soundtracks were removed, and replaced with original soundtrack by SkyTheFloof.
  • In Version v41.82 Token Hunt B and Falling Hoops got removed.
